Why Fish the SOUTHPAW?

It has often been said that "form follows function" and the SOUTHPAW is a classic example having been custom built specifically for Key West fishing. Many knowledgeable observers of the Key West fishing scene have concluded that the SOUTHPAW has the finest layout in the fleet. The cockpit area where actual fishing takes place is larger and more uncluttered than any of our competitors, this allows clients to spread out. Our live well system is state of the art with both above deck and below deck live wells. We can keep massive quantities of bait frisky all day long. Our electronics are superb, depth finders in 3 frequencies, GPS, LORAN, RADAR, by NorthStar and SimRad. The Southpaw also features a Tuna Tower, one of the few in the fleet. Capt. Brad spends alot of time up there because you get a better view of what's really going on. Whether we are chasing Sailfish showering Ballyhoo on the reef edge, patrolling a color change for "tailers" or roaming the Gulf Stream in search of slammer Dolphin, the advantage in having a Tower is substantial and results in more caught fish for our clients. It is a rare day when we don't hear from one of our customers exiting the boat that the SOUTHPAW was the cleanest, best organized, most comfortable fishing boat they had ever been aboard.

Capt. Brad and his crew believe that "the harder we work at fishing the luckier our clients get" as a result we go the extra mile to be successful. For example during the busy winter season we feature live bait every day, and not just bait that's easy to keep alive like Pinfish and Blue Runners, but the bait that works best for each situation; Pilchards, Thread Herring, live Ballyhoo, Goggle Eyes. Live bait catches more fish, when you fish aboard the SOUTHPAW you will use the right live bait. Capt. Brad is a strong believer in taking advantage of daily conditions. One day will find us anchored bottom fishing, another day slow trolling or kite fishing. While many of our competitors are doing the same thing day after day, (trolling dead Ballyhoo) we take pride in the versatility and variety of the fishing experiences we offer. Good Luck and Tight lines.
